The threats of a destruction led to meeting held by several leaders aimed at planning a way of resolving the problem (Wainright, 15). At the end of the movie, there is a scene where the expected bomb is dropped, and this results to Russian doomsday mechanism and a series of theatrical explosions; in fact, this movie is a comical presentation of nuclear protection and worldwide conflicts, which is considered an apprehension of the Cold War. Apparently, this movie illustrates the significance of political issues that prevailed in 1950 and 60s.

Nevertheless, this paper will focus on presenting the moral stance on way as it is presented in Dr. Strangelove. The moral stance that is demonstrated by the movie related to the irrationality involving the concept of “mutually assured destruction” (Taylor, 40). The movie presents men who claim of being moral, whereby they leave their environs under the responsibility of amoral Science and their decisions (Hans 202). However, this indicates there is disregard to the facts that decisions are significantly associated with morality and to those that aspire via amorality to Science.

In this case, this movie offers a representation of vicious circle, which results to less moral world dominated by machines that are inhuman and passionless (Hans 202). Therefore, this movie offers a contrast of the perception of the critics who considers the movie to be mocking the militarists and the expression of the superiority of human unreliability regarding amoral machines. Furthermore, the movie uses nuclear war to depict the worst way through which public morality is tested, thereby suggesting elements that need to be altered in order to facilitate survival (Taylor, 40).

In addition, the movie presents facts that indicate that there is need for mankind to take another direction in order to have the best moral answer to the problem (Hans 202). This movie offers a warning to citizens and leaders in America, whereby it indicates that continuation of the direction that supports war may result to loss of moral values and destruction.
