The paper "Passion for Nursing and the Future Perspective" is an outstanding example of a scholarship essay on nursing. The ambition: I have been in the nursing profession for the last 6 years, and I am currently a certified nursing assistant. I have fairly relaxed working hours and my total working schedule is between 20-32 hours per week. By owning invaluable and varied experience in the nursing field, I consider it to be the treasure of life and not a routine working schedule. Touching the lives of those who are sick to make them happy and comfortable is the mission of my life and it is a rewarding experience day after day.

I know what it is to be compassionate, and the joy it brings to the one who receives kind nursing service.  The backgrounder information: I graduated from high school in 1983. I am a single parent, separated for 2 years, married for the first time 5 years ago. I have taken student loans in order to pay for my educational expenses. Though I have a good home, my bills and domestic expenses are far in excess of my take-home pay and expenses from all ends are mounting month after month. I have not taken my daughter on vacation in over 10 years and I feel sorry that I am unable to provide to my child the minimum comfort a child expects of the parent.

My car is a pretty old model and I drive it with the apprehension whether it will be able to render faithful service for taking me back and forth from school and hospital. I desperately need a new car but at the present level of my earnings, I cannot afford one. The goal ahead I intend to pursue my studies to become a Registered Nurse (RN). I decided to seek admission in the college in Fall 2008 and finally, I am accepted into the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program in Fall 2012. I look forward to this new beginning in my life with great expectations and I sincerely hope and pray that I will be able to improve my financial status and academic credentials.

With the break that I am going to achieve in my educational status, I feel very responsible and I am seized of with a new determination to help myself and others. My passion for nursing and the future perspective To me, the profession of nursing is a mission, not a mere commission (the source of earning). By temperament, I am a compassionate human being and derive joy in tending the sick, counsel and give hope to them about the purpose of this human life. When I am free from my work, after attending to the needs of my daughter, and assisting in her studies, I take the patients from the nursing home out to dinner, for swimming and to the casino, for entertainment.

I am always aware of my responsibilities and in the hospital, many of my patients, staff members, and doctors consider me as the role model. This is not an egoistic statement. As a nurse, I wish to prove as an asset to the community, work with utmost dedication, to be of service in the hour of their need. I get telephone calls during my off-duty hours from my past patients, who seek counseling for their problems; I take pleasure to do the best that I can, under the circumstances and that is an honorary service, for which I do not charge anything.

My application for the scholarship may please be considered favorably in the light of the above information. I sincerely believe the nursing profession will enable me to improve my financial budget better and put me in a comfortable position to help others and help me to expand my knowledge base. I may add for your information, I have actively involved myself as a volunteer in Non-profit Organization sponsored community work, like eye testing camps, blood pressure, screening and attended the counseling counters in health camps to give advice to the patients suffering from hypertension and diabetes.

I expect a favorable decision on my application for a scholarship. This is the decisive period in my life, and I hope your benign intervention will do much to change the course of my life for better. Yours truly,
