Intelligence Collection 8th June The US forces have faced challenges of finding out counter intelligence against terrorist groups around the world. Terrorist unit is disguise and are not easily identified making it hard for people to get the lead on their actions. Moreover, the terrorist group pose a great threat to HUMINT officers making it dangerous for the US government to engage its officers to foreign nations. In addition, the Al Qaeda, Al Shaabab and Hamas terrorist group thrive in lawlessness countries that make it hard for foreign forces to penetrate or identify locals willing to give out information on the target units.

1One example of the challenges facing the US HUMINT is the time it takes to find the hiding of Osama Bin Laden. He managed to live for a decade after he masterminded the September 11 attack. Moreover, the HUMINT forces have acted against the US government in Cuba. CIA officers sent in Cuba have allied themselves to the Cuban regime rather than carry out their mandate of espionage for the US interest. Moreover, almost no countries in the world have laws that allow other countries to find, collect and submit information to their countries.

It is unlawful, and many American officers have been detained, persecuted and even killed for spying. Therefore, the danger of putting the life of soldiers in the line makes HUMINT method of collecting intelligence a difficult task for the American people. In addition, the advent of technology has eased the ways of collecting intelligence thus addressing the challenges of faced by HUMINT.BibliographyMazumdar, Keshav.
