Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: Essay Reflection
A personal reflection on a scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone Harry Potter and the philosopher stone is about a small boy called harry who joins Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry. As the film nears its end Harry potter together with his friends Ron and Hermione. Reach the chess room where they must win the dangerous game of chess in order to go through to recover the sorcerer’s stone. In this scene, they play the game and are almost winning until when Ron decides to sacrifice himself as knights in order for harry to checkmate the king in order to win the game.
I chose this scene because it made me reflect on my life as a student. I made me realize that sacrifice is part and parcel of a student’s life. I realized that together with my friends in school, we should learn to sacrifice important things in life in order to achieve our goals in school. This illustrated when Ron is willing to sacrifice himself in order for Harry to be able to win the chess game for him to be allowed to move on to the next room for hi, to get the sorcerer’s stone to triumph overlord Voldemort.
In order for me to achieve my goals in my school life, I must sacrifice things such as leisure and fun to allow me to be able to study well and pass all my exams. This kind of sacrifice is proved in the movie since Harry Potter is able to win the game and goes on and gets the sorcerer’s stone thus defeating Lord Voldemort.
