? "Social Work, Social Justice, Cultural Diversity And Human Dignity" Social structure depicts the way in which a society is planned and arranged. The term ‘social structure’ is defined as the way in which society is organized into preset associations. There are five diverse social structures encompassing various groups. These groups involve the quantity of people bearing analogous norms, standards and prospects sharing interactions on a usual basis. Family is the basic unit of the society and, thus, is the sole basis to run culture and tradition of the society. Technological advancement has overlaid the foundation of global culture. The world seems to be small and people are approachable as individuals are connected through the Internet, satellites, and mobile phones sweeping away cultural limits. Through global entertainment, individuals are now able to perceive the culture and tradition followed in one country or community from anywhere across the world, thereby influencing the local values, norms and culture. Introduction Sociology is concerned with the study and understanding of human’s activities, survival, quality attached in the co-operative manner and form a society. Society is a group of individuals that are confined to a specific geographical area. It is important to appreciate the set rules and regulations how to behave in a society, the attitude of an individual, performance, actions, intelligence as well as the significance of being a part of society. The study encompasses various factors that shape the personality of the individual, sociology, therefore, deals with the examination of these factors which play an important role in defining the qualities of a person. The factors are associated with the mannerism, behavior, family background, cultural predisposition of the society, family unit, outlook, opinion, mindset, outlook of the individual that broadly depends on the upbringing and the family orientation. These are the basic factors or elements which contribute to the personality of the individual and, hence, the individual’s attitude towards others (What is sociology, anyway ? Why bother to study it?). A congenial, co-operative, understanding, empathic attitude in the family nurtures and inculcates the positive attitude in the personal disposition of the child and in every family member. This attitude aids positive gesture, actions and feelings. A positive attitude towards mankind, influencing thoughts and personal attitude, brings a soft attitude. In contrast, if the individuals are brought up with frustration and abuse then the personality displays such traits through short tempered nature, aggressive temperament, unhealthy feelings towards others, negative approach for life and also for people (What is sociology, anyway ? Why bother to study it?). It is essential to study sociology as it relates to people and how they interact with their environment. It is related with the anthropology and psychology. Society has interrelationships and networks. Sociology utilizes scientific methods to examine the individual and the society and hence there is no vague decision but it is logical and as per the set theories of sociology. There are certain changes which are made with the passage of time and with the advent of new technologies (What is sociology, anyway ? Why bother to study it?). Social structure depicts the way in which a society is planned and arranged into. It is, therefore, essential to study sociology. The term ‘social structure’ is defined as the way in which society is organized into preset associations which involve the extent of people bearing analogous norms, standards and prospects sharing interactions on a usual basis (What is sociology, anyway ? Why bother to study it?). Social groups may be primary, secondary, or alliances, contributing to the establishment of a social network which, in turn, persuade the configuration of social organizations. The study of sociology is essential as human is a unit of a society and, hence, participating in influencing the structure of the society. Thoughts generated by single mind are potentially capable of manipulating social structures as there is a regular interaction within the primary social circle and influencing the secondary and other spheres of human dealings and co-existence. These interactions are made to share facial expressions, grievances, moments of joy, cheer and interact to resolve any issue beneath the family unit, or house (What is sociology , anyway ? Why bother to study it?). Socioeconomic classes encompass a particular assembly or composition of people forming a society. These compositions formulate social stratification, a categorization on the basis of socio-economic status (SES). This in-equates the society on the basis of economic, societal, political as well as ideological magnitudes. Income that family procures, the level of education of parents and other members of family, the kind of profession directly implicate the socioeconomic status of the family. This is a continuous process: if a child is born in a family with high SES then the child is bound to possess high self-esteem, better exposure to resources, mannerism, behavior, better education and hence better job thus the child becomes capable of maintaining high SES (Brady, 2003; Bradley, 2002). On the other hand, health issues due to poor nutrition, scarcity of resources, no revelation to the latest technologies, lack of education and awareness hampers the self-esteem of a child belonging to a family with low socioeconomic status. Parents of low socioeconomic group do not possess high degrees and lack exposure as well as confidence to face the competent world. Research reveals that SES is linked with an extensive assortment of physical condition, cognitive, and socio-poignant upshots in kids. These implications are experienced by the child right from the fetal stage and continue throughout the life (Bradley, 2002). Child belonging to high SES gets right to use various information, substances and communal sources or responses to deal with stress generating situations. SES influences welfare at numerous intensities both within the family and those associated with the family and surroundings. Its implications are restrained by kids’ individual personality, relations and outside collaborative procedures (Bradley, 2002). Primary status greatly influences upbringing as it transpires within the family, moulding and shaping our beliefs, values and opinions. An individual is conditioned to this atmosphere and follows the beliefs and rules all through the life. Based on these beliefs further interaction and socialization with other groups of society takes the contour namely the secondary groups and organizational, national and international interactions. How effectively a person is moulded and how deep understanding a person has developed to interact with the society depends on the daily interaction among the primary group members as these interactions form the basis of further social networks. Sociology, therefore, requires a thorough study and understanding (What is sociology, anyway? Why bother to study it?). Sociology is related to the study and develops insight for human’s activities, endurance, and eminence in a well co-operative manner. All these features are essential for the formation of a society. It is imperative to realize and respect the set rules and systems and behave accordingly in a society. A social worker is well aware of such features and helps others develop characteristics and thoughts to be progressive and work for the development of the society (So You Want to be a Social Worker). An altruistic, philanthropic approach and understanding towards humane, ability to help others, to uplift the deprived individuals, to assist the ailing persons with all the possible aids are the key features that are desired by a social worker. I believe it is in my potentials, deeds and intellect to take the right decision at the appropriate time and, therefore, I would like to be a person of worth, an individual whom people count upon and who can inculcate the feeling of belongingness and make people understand the significance of being a part of society (So You Want to be a Social Worker). I have faith in my qualities, mannerism, behavior, background, cultural predisposition of the society, outlook, opinion, mindset as well as orientation as these are the contributory factors to my personality portrayed through my attitude. I would like to inculcate a congenial, co-operative, understanding, positivity and empathic attitude in the minds of people I am associated with as a positive attitude towards mankind, influences creative thoughts and sophisticated attitude. It eliminates frustration, abuse, temperament, aggression, unhealthy feelings towards others, negative approach, murders, terrorism and kills. My experience in dealing with people and desire to work for them could be fulfilled by becoming a social worker where I can create a society of harmony and trust on each other. References Bradley, R.
